The pre-motor filter is located near the vacuum cleaner's motor. Its purpose is to protect the motor from debris and dust. Pre-motor filters are often made of foam or fabric and need to be cleaned or replaced regularly to maintain optimal performance. Polyester mesh and nylon(polyamide) mesh are the mostly used for the pre-motor filter in the vacuum cleaner.

Polyester is one of the strongest fibers and remains resistant even if it gets wet and exposed to friction. Its low moisture absorbency prevents it from expanding, contracting, becoming wrinkled, and it also features resistance to chemicals.
